Targets, screens, and field equipment for training environments
A well-run bullpen or cage isn't just a mound and a catcher. It's a designed environment: targets that force intent, screens that keep coaches and throwers safe, and mound and plate systems that keep the setup portable and consistent. This collection is built around all three.
What each category does
- Command targets — freestanding or hanging targets that give the pitcher a specific point of intent for every pitch.
- Protective screens — safety-first netting for coaches feeding balls, pitchers throwing bullpens, and hitters in soft-toss work.
- Mound and portable pads — durable throwing surfaces for weighted-ball, long-toss, and bullpen work in indoor or off-mound settings.
- Hitting-side targets — visual feedback tools for launch angle, contact quality, and directional hitting off tee or machine.
Signature pieces
The TAP® Advanced Command Trainer is the freestanding strike-zone target for high-intent command work. The TAP® K Target is a nine-point differential target for effective-velocity training. The Six Pocket Target and Precision Target handle traditional command drills. The Pitching Pad® and Portable Plyo Mat are our purpose-built throwing surfaces for bullpen and weighted-ball work. The Designated Hitter® is a durable pitching dummy for game-simulation drills. On the hitting side, the Batting Target and Hitting Target give visual feedback for contact quality and swing direction. Field screens round out the collection for coach and player safety.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the Pitching Pad® and how is it used?
The Pitching Pad® is a padded pitching target — an oversized, forgiving surface that a pitcher can throw at during weighted-ball, plyometric-ball, or bullpen work. It absorbs the ball cleanly (limited bounce back, no wear on the wall or fence) and gives a visual target big enough for intent-based drills. It's a workhorse in modern throwing programs.
Are the screens net-only or framed?
Both. Standard field screens ship with a durable frame and netting rated for baseball and softball impact. Replacement nets are available separately, and we carry both L-screens and rectangular/square screens for different roles. Coach protection is a real safety issue — pick the screen that matches how you actually use it.
Can targets be used in a batting cage?
Yes. Every target in this collection is compatible with cage setups. The Advanced Command Trainer and Command Plate are freestanding and moveable, so you can pull them out for pitcher‑side work and put them away for hitting sessions. The remaining targets are designed to be hung or mounted in a cage or on a net, not used as a standalone freestanding unit, so you’ll want an appropriate backdrop or frame in place. Just check the depth and height clearance of your cage against the target dimensions on each product page before setting up.
